Pursued by incensed Mourinho.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier left the field of play to go to the toilet during Tuesday’s Carabao Cup round of 16 match against Chelsea.

He was swiftly followed by his manager José Mourinho, who explained he was just trying to apply pressure on Dier to return as quickly as possible.

At the time, Spurs were 0-1 down to their London rivals following Timo Werner’s first-half goal, his first for his new club since joining from Leipzig in the summer.

Erik Lamela equalised on 83 minutes to take the game to penalties, with Mourinho’s men emerging triumphant with five successful spot kicks to four.
