Labelled “adorable” by Mirror Online, the seemingly sweet natured animal manages to break through the police line and ends up lying in the sun on the grass at the feet of one of the players.

The loving Lab is treated to a bit of a belly rub from his new favourite before being escorted off the pitch in the arms of another team member.

After the unexpected delay shortly before half-time that appeared to both please and anger some of the participants, play was eventually able to resume and the crowd were treated to goals from Belgrano’s Julio Furch and Quilmes’s Sebastián Martínez.

We’ll never know if the stray hound had any say in the two second-half strikes or any influence on the 1-1 final score at the 57k-seater Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Córdoba on Saturday.
