Yaya Touré faces late interest test in race to be bothered for Burnley clash

Ivorian currently only gives one hoot, confirms Guardiola.

Manchester City are sweating on the interest of Yaya Touré, with the Ivorian set to undergo a late test to see if he can be bothered to play away to Burnley tomorrow.

Touré returned from the wilderness to score twice at Crystal Palace last weekend, a development that has since been attributed to a momentary return of arsedness.

But whereas that entailed a trip to London, he is struggling to muster enthusiasm for tomorrow’s lunchtime kick-off at Turf Moor.

Pep Guardiola said: “At the moment we’re concerned because Yaya said he couldn’t give two hoots.

“At the same time we’re encouraged because he said he could give one hoot, so it’s a race against time to see if we can get that extra hoot out of him in time for tomorrow.

“There’s every chance he may have lost that hoot by tomorrow morning, leaving us in the same no-hoots situation where we started.

“So it’s delicately poised, although I suppose I could try lying to him about what Burnley’s like.”
