It’s the Will Grigg fire that’s kept a nation in song this summer, and it’s raging once again thanks to the heatwave currently gracing the United Kingdom.
The Wigan Athletic striker caught the eye in more ways than one last season when he overcame the disadvantage of being constantly engulfed in flames to plunder 25 goals in 40 matches.
However, the fire had to be extinguished for safety reasons as the bench he spent the entirety of Euro 2016 sitting on was made of wood, which is notoriously flammable.
Fans of the original Will Grigg fire will be delighted to learn that the Northern Ireland international is now once again ablaze, but it is unclear at this stage how this might affect any Pokémon Go activity in the surrounding area.
Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, Sergeant Paul Vaughan confirmed that the fire is located solely on and about the person of Will Grigg, and that he should be considered dangerous only as a goal-scoring threat at Championship level.
He said: “Yeah, that’s just about the crux of it.
“Have you got everything you need?”
He added: “Let me know when it goes live, will you?
“Ta.”
