Liverpool book FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal

Liverpool last night booked their place in next month’s FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal with a 1-0 quarter-final replay win at Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

The Reds, decidedly less rejuvenated than they were a month ago, will contest the Wembley showpiece against the Gunners in what is already being described in some quarters as “a repeat of the 2001 final, you know, that Michael Owen one”.

After a morale-boosting thumping of Newcastle United this coming Monday night, Liverpool will edge past Aston Villa in a nervy FA Cup semi-final before ending their season in painful fashion as once-prospective signing Alexis Sánchez runs them ragged on the lush surface of Wembley while spring bleeds lazily into summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Burp, Jimmy, a Liverpool supporter from Aintree, labelled us “a pack of ****s”.

He said: “You really are a pack of ****s.

“You know that, right?”
