The official made a number of confident calls, spotting several dives and generally awarding cards when necessary.
One particularly brave decision saw Ángel Di María booked for diving and then moments later sent off for pulling Oliver’s shirt in front of thousands of baying United supporters in the Stretford End.
A rare treat to have a strong official making the right calls, the social network hosted a love-in for the ref – despite frustrated Manchester United fans sniping from the sidelines.
