
Nacer Chadli’s stoppage time winner gave Belgium a dramatic 3-2 win over Japan in their World Cup Round of 16 match at the Rostov Arena on Monday night.
After a goalless first half, Genki Haraguchi and Takashi Inui struck early in the second period to leave Roberto Martínez’s men facing an ignominious exit.
Belgium responded by throwing on Marouane Fellaini and Nacer Chadli, both of whom scored along before Jan Vertonghen netted the winner with virtually the last kick of the game.
