Manchester City defender Eric García was remorselessly taken out by his own goalkeeper when Ederson charged out of the area to meet a long ball from Arsenal with his head.
Poor, young García was treated for several minutes on the pitch before being stretchered off in a neck brace following the collision in Pep Guardiola’s side’s 3-0 win over Arsenal on Wednesday night.
In the second game of the night as the Premier League campaign restarted after the coronavirus break, the 19-year-old felt the full force of his goalkeeper – who appeared unconcerned about who he ploughed through in pursuit of the ball.
These were the best jokes and tweets as Ederson clatters into Manchester City teammate Eric García against Arsenal:
Why’s Ederson walking round smiling the psychopath
