As Tottenham Hotspur moved eight points clear of their bitter north London rivals with a 4-0 win at Stoke City, these were the best Arsenal jokes.

Two goals apiece for Harry Kane and Dele Alli kept Spurs in the Premier League title hunt, closing the gap on leaders Leicester to five points with four games remaining.

This cast renewed spotlight on the Gunners’ failure to keep up, with Sunday’s 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace ending any lingering title hopes they may have harboured.

It goes without saying there was no shortage of Arsenal jokes in this instance:

If any Arsenal players were ineligible or failed drugs tests after our matches against Leicester now would be a really good time to own up.
