Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has been charged by the FA after he appeared to perform a Nazi salute in a photo posted on Instagram.

There was uproar on social media when photos surfaced of Roy Hodgson’s squad having dinner together while Hennessey could be seen with one hand in the air and the other covering his mouth.

The Wales international later sought to deny making the gesture.

But the Football Association alleges that Hennessey breached rules relating to abusive, insulting or improper conduct – bringing the game into disrepute.

Seriously ?! All he did was hold his hand/arm in a straight motion to signal to his mate holding the camera. And then cup his other hand over his mouth to generate louder acoustics to shout to said mate holding the camera. #innocent

I’ve heard he’s führious.
