Wayne Rooney, Man Utd – £10.5m
He’s scored more goals against Aston Villa than he has against any other Premier League team, apparently, so if United can get it together then he’s ripe for captaining.
Christian Benteke, Liverpool – £8.5m
Failed to score a debut goal in the 1-0 opening day win at Stoke, but if anything that makes him even likelier to score at home to newly promoted Bournemouth this time out.
Bafétimbi Gomis, Swansea – £7m
Ended last season in fine form and scored in the Swans’ 2-2 opening day draw at Chelsea, so he’s got to be a decent shout to net again at home to Newcastle.
Glenn Murray, Crystal Palace – £6m
Still Alan Pardew’s preferred front man after the arrivals of Connor Wickham and Patrick Bamford – at least for now, anyway – and he’ll be raring to cause chaos against an Arsenal team that lost 0-2 at home to West Ham on opening day.
Shane Long, Southampton – £6m
£8m team mate Graziano Pellè is a tempting proposition, but Long’s goal-scoring appearance as a substitute in the 2-2 draw at Newcastle could earn him a start against an Everton side that might struggle with his pace.
Good luck and happy selecting!
