Recommended selections this week include players from Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea.

1. Mohamed Salah, LIV (midfielder)

After his two-goal cameo at Stoke, it’s impossible to overlook Salah as being currently the Premier League’s outstanding attacker. This weekend he goes to Brighton off the back of seven goals in four games.

2. Harry Kane, TOT (forward)

Could just as easily blank as score a hat-trick – it’s a tough call, because he’s still been scoring despite Tottenham’s poor form.

3. A Man City player

But who? If you could be absolutely sure of their starting XI at home to West Ham then they’d be the outstanding candidate for captaincy. What with their squad rotation, however, it’s a gamble.

4. Álvaro Morata/Eden Hazard, CHE (forward/midfielder)

They may both have blanked at home to Swansea, but if anything this makes them all the more likely to put Newcastle to the sword.
