Diego Costa, Chelsea (forward)
A major gamble, seeing as he might not even be fit to play, but José Mourinho has previous in misleading us in this regard. Would play at home to Swansea, a team he scored 5 goals in 2 games against last season.
Eden Hazard, Chelsea (midfielder)
The ‘safe’ choice, perhaps, but it should be remembered that he started last season quite slowly before exploding. Quiet against Arsenal in the Community Shield.
Cesc Fàbregas, Chelsea (midfielder)
Tends to start seasons on fire, although his role as a number 10 against Arsenal proved unsuccessful.
Theo Walcott, Arsenal (midfielder)
If he starts up front at home to West Ham then he could be in for a monster score. Again, though, it’s an if.
Romelu Lukaku, Everton (forward)
Another who might not even be fit to play, although his manager insists he will be. If he is, he could destroy newly promoted Watford at Goodison Park.
Glenn Murray, Crystal Palace (forward)
We can see Palace winning comfortably at newly promoted Norwich, and Murray showed towards the end of last season how effective he can be as the focal point in a counter-attacking set-up.
