A new season’s Fantasy Premier League is upon us, so do consider the following three potential Southampton bargains.

Ronald Koeman’s Saints surprised everyone by finishing 7th last time out, but the resulting Europa League campaign could take its toll on a squad shorn of Nathaniel Clyne, Morgan Schneiderlin and Toby Alderweireld.

If they can manage to balance their domestic and European campaigns effectively, however, there could be some cracking Southampton bargains to be had…

Sadio Mané, midfielder – £8m

Scored at an impressive rate in his debut campaign, including that stunning quick-fire hat-trick in the 6-1 win over Aston Villa, and midfielders who score like forwards are FPL gold dust.

Jay Rodriguez, forward – £7m

Finally back from a long-term injury and should be raring to emulate his 15-goal showing from a couple of seasons ago.

Victor Wanyama, midfielder – £4.5m

As cheap ‘enablers’ go, Wanyama’s a handy one – he’ll play every week and even pop up with the odd goal.
