A brand new Fantasy Premier League season is about to begin, so do consider these three potential Everton bargains.
Roberto Martínez’s Toffees endured a troubled campaign last time out, registering an 11th place finish amidst a flurry of energy-sapping Europa League ties.
Shorn of European football this time around, might we see them recapture the form of Martínez’s 72-point debut season? If so, there are some serious Everton bargains to be had…
Romelu Lukaku, forward – £8m
Looked in fine form with a hat-trick in the friendly win at Hearts and ended last season as Everton’s first-choice penalty taker. Big things can reasonably expected of him this time around.
Kevin Mirallas, midfielder – £7m
If he stays put and wins back the regular first team spot his talent undoubtedly deserves then the Belgian winger could supply you with plenty of goals and assists for a relatively modest outlay.
Tim Howard, goalkeeper – £5m
It was only two seasons ago that the American finished as the FPL’s best performing ‘keeper, but last season’s team-wide underperformance has brought his price down to something that’s got to be worth considering.
Prices for attacking full-backs Leighton Baines and Séamus Coleman have also dropped, while Phil Jagielka appeared to add goals to his game last season.
However, beware Everton’s tough opening run of fixtures.
