Club-specific Fantasy Premier League tips? You know you want ’em, fantasy football heads, so join us in looking at three Chelsea players who could well end up bargains.

The Blues are likely to remain solid under José Mourinho so as usual should offer value for money in terms of defenders – but can the ‘special one’ fashion the kind of free-scoring outfit he’s not usually associated with?

A couple of marquee signings, one of whom is the first of our Chelsea-flavoured Fantasy Premier League tips, should help…

1. Cesc Fàbregas – £9m

In five seasons at Arsenal, the Spain midfielder scored a total of 30 league goals and racked up a whopping 72 – yes, seventy-two – assists.

Basically, if Chelsea are scoring then expect Fàbregas to be heavily involved. If Diego Costa can profit from his service then he’ll be hard to ignore too, even at £10.5m of your virtual budget.

2. André Schürrle – £7.5m

The World Cup winner showed in Brazil how potent he can be coming off the bench, and he showed how potent he can be starting matches with some impressive goal-scoring performances for Chelsea last season.

He’s listed in Fantasy Premier League as a midfielder, so many more showings like his hat-trick at Fulham or brace at Stoke City last season and he could be one of the bargains of the season even at £7.5m.

3. Gary Cahill – £6.5m

Chelsea defenders yielded handsome points return last season, at least once their manager had restored them to peak Mourinhosity and the many clean sheets that entails.

Key to that was England defender Cahill, who also has an eye for goal and even managed two assists for Samuel Eto’o in the 3-1 win over Manchester United in January.

John Terry (£6.5m) and Branislav Ivanovic (£7m) are also well capable of scoring. If the 33-year-old former manages another injury-free campaign then he’ll be arguably even puntworthier (oh yes) than Cahill.

The Serbian latter is discounted on account of his marginally higher price, but we dare say he’ll also yield a healthy points return.
