1. Leandro Bacuna – £5.5m

The midfielder scored five goals last season and could conceivably up his tally this time around if he gets more opportunities to unleash his explosive free kicks.

You’ll have to hang your hat on that improvement, mind – for £5.5m you could also have Steve Sidwell, scorer of 7 for Fulham last year and newly of Stoke City.

2. Ron Vlaar – £4.5m

Apologies in advance to any Villa fans reading, but if their Dutch international defender signs for a better placed Premier League side before the window closes then he could be one of the Fantasy Premier League bargains of the season.

Even if he stays at Villa Park and performs stoically, he still won’t accrue all that many fantasy points unless clean sheets are kept.

And even the obviously accomplished Vlaar would have to go some in order to keep clean sheets on behalf of a rather vulnerable looking Villa side.

3. Jack Grealish – £4.5m

This young midfielder could be the next big thing. Maybe he won’t be. Who knows?

Just be sure to keep an eye out for early signs of Grealish breaking through so you can nab him before his price shoots up.
