Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 35: Goalkeepers and Defenders

Manchester City are at home to West Bromwich Albion, making Aleksandar Kolarov the first name that springs to mind for us this weekend.

Kolarov is City’s first choice left-back for games at the Etihad, he carries a potent attacking threat with his awesome delivery, and furthermore he’ll set you back just £5.1m.

Chelsea are at home to Sunderland so get your fill of Mourinho’s mean-ass defensive unit – frankly, you should have at least a couple already.

Those rather obvious calls aside, it’s hard to call where the clean sheets are going to come from in this weekend’s Premier League fixtures.

Possibly Southampton at Aston Villa, but much may depend on the fitness of Saints goalkeeper Artur Boruc.

Very conceivably Everton against Manchester United, especially if Wayne Rooney is an absentee – you should really have at least a couple of Everton defenders in your squad already, mind.

That includes Toffees ‘keeper Tim Howard, scorer of 10 points for his performance in the 1-0 win at Sunderland.

It’s not hard to imagine West Ham United v Crystal Palace containing at least one clean sheet, but goodness knows which way – this is Sam Allardyce and Tony Pulis we’re talking about.

Palace defenders – including goalkeeper Julian Speroni, scorer of 10 points in the 1-0 win over Aston Villa – are going cheap and certainly seem to rack up the clean sheets at home.
