Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 30: Midfielders
Steven Gerrard has scored five goals in his last eight Premier League games, and five in his last nine league games against Manchester United, Liverpool’s hosts at Old Trafford this weekend.
Given the form he’s been in of late – not to mention the form of those ‘adept’ at winning him penalties to score from – he looks a smart move at £9.1m.
Manchester City are back in play after a two-Gameweek absence, and Yaya Touré can currently be had for just £9.9m.
That may not sound like one of this week’s outstanding bargains, but consider that Eden Hazard is presently priced at £11.2m and out-of-form Mesut Özil at £9.7m.
This weekend’s fixture list takes City to Hull City, by no means an easy fixture (albeit Newcastle United won 4-1 there) but neither is it one that you’d discount Touré from settling with a moment of brilliance.
Swansea City’s Jonathan De Guzmán seems to have hit some goal-scoring form of late, so you might fancy taking a £5.7m punt on him in time for this weekend’s home game against West Bromwich Albion.
£5.6m gets you Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko, whose two goals in the 4-1 win at Hull last time out might persuade you that he can repeat the trick at bottom-of-the-table Fulham this weekend.
