We can’t be sure of what will happen in this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, so there is a chance – just a teensy, weensy one – that our Fantasy Football tips might not work out for you.

Rest assured, however, that our educated guesses are at least as educated as they are guessed.

We should point out that our Fantasy Football tips are based on the Fantasy Premier League version of the game, but the principles should apply more or less across the board.

Okay, let’s be having this…

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 26: Goalkeepers and Defenders

Chelsea have now conceded only once in their last six games, and on the one occasion that they did concede – a 3-1 win over Manchester United – Gary Cahill claimed two assists on his way to ten Fantasy points.

Suffice it to say, his returns of 6, 5, 10, 7, 8 and 6 from those six games make him seem like excellent value at £5.9m, just shy of a million cheaper than centre-back partner John Terry.

£6.1m right-back Branislav Ivanovic is in even better form – a winning goal at Manchester City and assist against Newcastle United have earned him points hauls of 14 and 11 respectively, while Cesar Azpilicueta looks established at left-back and is therefore very reasonably priced at just £5.4m.

Everton have their first-choice defence back together and were unlucky to go down 1-0 at Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

On Wednesday the Toffees host Crystal Palace, who’ve been excellent at home of late but don’t pick up anywhere near as many points on the road.

Mind you, four of their last five away games have been against Chelsea, Manchester City, Spurs and Arsenal, so their series of narrow defeats don’t look so bad after all.

Any which way, Seamus Coleman is back from injury and, with five goals and nine clean sheets to his name already this season, he would seem to be somewhat essential.

If in-form Kevin Nolan fails to be fit in time for West Ham United’s home game against Norwich City then we’d fancy a 0-0 there, so you might like to browse the various bargains on show between them.
