Having already granted you this week’s goalkeepers and defenders round-up, so it follows that we offer up our Fantasy Football tips Gameweek 18 midfielder and striker recommendations.
We’re not Mystic Megson, so perhaps our Fantasy Football tips won’t work out for you – rest assured, however, that our educated guesses are at least as educated as they are guessed.
Oh aye, we should point out that our Fantasy Football tips are based on the official Premier League version of the game, but the principles should pretty much apply across the board.
Now let’s get cracking…
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 18: Midfielders
There are some right bargains to be had in this department, at least on current form – none more so than at Liverpool, where young Raheem Sterling is profiting from Luis Suárez’s propensity for assisting as well as scoring.
Sterling’s goal in the 3-1 win over Cardiff City took his tally to 3 in the last 4 games making his fee of £5m look decidedly paltry.
The same could be said of the £6.1m-rated Jordan Henderson – he managed two assists against Cardiff, making that 3 assists in the last 2 games.
Brendan Rodgers’s side face the daunting task of a trip to Manchester City on Thursday, but that doesn’t mean they can’t manage a few goals of their own – after all, Arsenal got three there recently, and Liverpool’s 5-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur showed they’re not to be taken lightly on the road.
Adnan Januzaj furthered his emergence as a Manchester United regular with a goal against West Ham United, and he can be had for the very reasonable sum of £4.9m.
United look to be in recovery mode, so you might fancy Januzaj to contribute positively again at Hull City on Thursday.
Similarly, Everton’s Ross Barkley enhanced his burgeoning reputation with a spectacular free kick winner at Swansea City – he’ll set you back just £5.1m, and the high-flying Toffees host bottom-of-the-table Sunderland next up.
Newcastle United playmaker Yohan Cabaye managed another goal in his side’s 3-0 win at Crystal Palace, and he also has assists in his locker – with the Magpies at home to Stoke City, he continues to look like a reliable investment at £6.5m.
Chelsea are at home to Swansea City, so you might want to consider any of their myriad goal-scoring midfielders, but they don’t come cheap.
Oh, and David Silva – the Yaya Touré of the second half of the season? You heard it here first.
Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 18: Strikers
He may not have scored, but Wayne Rooney‘s two assists against West Ham earned him a very respectable haul of 11 points nonetheless.
Set-ups are worth only a point less than goals, so they’re worth bearing in mind even for strikers – heck, they’ve certainly played their part in Luis Suárez‘s phenomenal recent tallies.
Yoan Gouffran loves scoring at St James’s Park, so he might be worth looking at as Stoke travel to Newcastle on Boxing Day – furthermore, he’ll cost you just £6.4m.
Oh, and look at Emmanuel Adebayor back amongst the goals! Spurs are at home to West Bromwich Albion, so he could prove to be a worthwhile inclusion at £7.7m.
