Yesterday we gave you our goalkeeping and defensive Fantasy Football Tips for Gameweek 17, and so it follows that we present you with our midfield and striker tips as well.

Remember, though, that we don’t know for certain what will happen in this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, so there is a slim possibility that our Fantasy Football tips might not work out for you.

Oh aye, our Fantasy Football tips are based on the official Premier League version of the game, although the principles should apply across the board.

Shall we, then?

Fantasy Football Tips, Gameweek 17 – Midfielders

Arsenal may have gone down 6-3 at Manchester City but Theo Walcott’s two-goal return begs quite loudly for his inclusion.

That Walcott is listed on Fantasy Premier League as a midfielder rather than a striker was a veritable hack last season, when his 14 goals and 13 assists contributed to an overall points haul of 194.

He’s also got a good record against Chelsea, the Gunners’ opponents at the Emirates this weekend, so we’d highly recommend splashing out the required £9.1m.

City’s David Silva was another to come back with a bang, making a goal-scoring return at Bayern Munich in midweek and following this up with another against Arsenal.

The Spaniard has four goals and three assists from his eight Premier League appearances so far this season, so assuming he stays clear of further injury troubles then he’s another who looks to be good business even at £9.1m.

Everton’s Kevin Mirallas continued his return to goal-scoring form by rounding off the Toffees’ 4-1 win over Fulham, a game in which Gerard Deulofeu, his main rival for a starting berth, was carried off with an injury.

Deulofeu looks set to miss the next few weeks, so the stage is set for Mirallas to take advantage – at just £7.2m, you might fancy doing likewise.

Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling looks to have been striking up an understanding with Luis Suárez of late – he scored again in the 5-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur, meaning he has two goals and one assist from his last three games.

The Reds look imperious at Anfield, where they shall take on struggling Cardiff City this weekend, so we reckon Sterling is well worth a punt at the bargain price of £4.9m.

Fantasy Football Tips, Gameweek 17 – Strikers

Either we underestimated Liverpool or overestimated Spurs – perhaps both – but we really shot ourselves in the foot by taking the captaincy away from Suárez this weekend.

He’d won us so many points as captain with an incredible five goals and three assists over the previous two games…and he only went and followed that up with two goals and three assists this time around.

Those wise and/or negligent enough to have left him as captain for the seemingly difficult trip to White Hart Lane were rewarded with 44 points, so it goes without saying that the Uruguayan will be our captain this weekend.

With Sergio Agüero injured, now might be a good time to experiment with bringing in a cheap replacement so that you may strengthen your midfield options.

We’ve got our eye on Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez: his goal in the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United was his 6th in the last 10 games, making him look a veritable bargain at just £5.9m.

Yoan Gouffran scored that game’s other goal, his fourth in the last seven – all of which have come at St James’s Park.

The Magpies are away to Crystal Palace this weekend, so by all means splash £6.4m on Gouffran if you think he can start replicating his home form on the road.

However, you might do even better to rope in the Eagles’ surprise hit man Marouane Chamakh, who has now scored in his last three games and costs just £4.8m.

Chamakh a viable option for your Fantasy Football team – who’d-a thunk it?

Happy picking, folks!
