Uzbekistan took advantage of an injury to the Maldives goalkeeper and scored while she was lying on the ground during a 20-0 win in the AFC U19 Women’s Championship in Kyrgyzstan.

Organised by the Asian Football Confederation every two years, the tournament serves as a qualifying competition for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and provides some interesting match-ups.

Uzbekistan’s third goal was scored by captain Laylo Shodieva, who was first to react when Maldives shot-stopper Ula Binth Ijlal fell to the floor at the Spartak Stadium, dropping the ball after making a save.

The referee gave the goal and Shodieva kissed the the badge on her shirt in celebration.

The team have since faced accusations of poor sportsmanship, especially given the obvious gulf in class between the two sides.
