Poland’s Michał Pazdan showed cat-like reflexes to stop an outdoor studio light falling on TVP Sport reporter Sylwia Dekiert during an interview.

The Legia Warsaw centre-back was speaking to the channel ahead of the World Cup when a sudden gust of wind sent the equipment hurtling towards where they were sitting.

Wincing at the oncoming danger, Pazdan nevertheless manages to stick out a foot and make the block before flashing a grin in recognition of his impromptu defensive contribution.

Dekiert seems somewhat less amused by the technical hitch but saw the lighter side afterwards, describing Pazdan as “my hero” and “Kung Fu Pazdan” in a tweet.
