Great run from the overhead camera who narrowly fails to make a connection. Still goalless, Jeff. #ATMLEI pic.twitter.com/8hz8lJlcq1

Atlético Madrid’s 1-0 win over Leicester in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie was nearly embellished by a remotely-controlled overhead camera that almost nodded in one of their crosses on Wednesday night.

The camera at the 55k-seater Vicente Calderón Stadium appeared just inches away from the ball sailing into Leicester City’s penalty area and could very easily have scored a goal for the home side while the match remained level.

But Atlético will take just the one-goal lead to England next week, thanks to a first-half Antoine Griezmann penalty.
