The Sunshine Coast division three men’s grand final between Woombye Snakes and Kawana Force was interrupted by a koala pitch invader in Queensland, Australia on Friday night.

The video, captured by Maneena Roberts, who was in the crowd, shows a Kawana Force player sweetly shepherding the small creature off the field so play could continue.

According to reports the koala pitch invader was first noticed in the Girraween Sports complex in Eenie Creek at around 10.30pm.

But after being led off the field, it kept returning and at one stage was said to be within a metre of the action before the common Australian animal was placed safely on the other side of a fence.

Roberts told the Sunshine Coast Daily:

Everybody had their cameras out.

He was offside according to the crowd, he kept coming back, they had to put an official on guard, it was really funny!
