Check out Gary Neville’s Suárez bite quip made in the studio before Manchester United’s Capital One Cup clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford last night.

Neville claims that he’s not “clever enough” to make such a joke, but Burp knows the truth.

Sitting in Sky Sports pundit HQ alongside former Liverpool players Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp, Neville made the jibe during the pre-match analysis.

He said:

We don’t want angels. I mean this is a type of game where you are…

I want to see Luis Suarez. I want to see a little bit of bite in the game. I don’t wanna see…

… before the room collapsed in laughter.

Neville then claimed:

I’m not clever enough to make that joke.

… before further clarifying his remarks:

I want to see some fight and guts in the game, I really do.

I don’t want to see people out there sort of walking past each other saying “Hiya mate, ya alright?”

It’s Liverpool United.

The Suárez-watchers were left sadly disappointed in the end though as the newly-returned villain neither caused a scene nor affected the scoreline.

Manchester United pulled off a 1-0 home win, easing the pressure on new manager Moyes.
