This spoof advert for the Uruguayan Primera División, courtesy of national broadcasters TV TCC, has been banned for “denigrating” the league’s image.

The Uruguayan Football Association intervened to prevent the station from airing the advert, which shows farcical footage set to a backdrop of stirring classical music reminiscent of the Champions League theme.

Highlights include a cow on the pitch, a mattress being used to dry out a waterlogged pitch, a ridiculous goalmouth scramble and a ball landing in a nearby river.

Perhaps the Uruguayan FA shouldn’t have been so hasty, because this spoof advert can only leave you inclined to tune in.
