Atlético Madrid star Antoine Griezmann knelt down to tie a child mascot’s laces before the 2-0 Champions League win over Monaco on Wednesday.
With the teams lined up for the customary pre-kick-off proceedings, France forward Griezmann noticed the youngster’s shoes were unfastened.
He crouches down to remedy the situation, the boy responding with a grin to getting a helping hand from such a big star – one who later a shared a clip of the moment on Twitter.
Griezmann went on to score in the victory, netting midway through the first half to add to Koke’s 2nd minute opener for Diego Simeone’s side.
Although Stefan Savić was sent off late on, they hung on for a result that leaves them top of Group A, two points clear of Borussia Dortmund.
Their passage to the knockout stages of the tournament is assured, but they can qualify in first place with a win at Club Brugge in their final match.
