Watch in amazement as West Ham goalkeeper Adrián runs the length of the pitch to score against a Hammers All-Stars XI in Mark Noble’s testimonial.

Thinking on, you’ll likely watch this clip more in amusement than amazement – after all, Adrián’s pitch-long dribble is hardly the most graceful of forays forwards.

Requiring the close chaperoning of team-mate Michail Antonio to ward off opposition tackles, Adrián makes it all the way to the West Ham All-Stars penalty area before deflecting the ball in off David James.

Eagle-eyed viewers might also notice that the Spaniard starts his not-quite-solo venture by throwing the ball over the head of a certain Paolo Di Canio.

Speaking of which, the full list of players in the West Ham All-Stars squad makes for eye-catching reading – just get a load of all the big names amongst this lot:

Robert Green, David James, Ludek Miklosko, Paul Konchesky, Danny Gabbidon, Anton Ferdninand, Christian Dailly, Kevin Keen, Scott Parker, Teddy Sheringham, Trevor Sinclair, Dean Ashton, Craig Bellamy, Jack Collison, Paolo Di Canio, Marlon Harewood, John Moncur, Stewart Downing, Steve Lomas, Jamie Redknapp, Carlton Cole, Ian Bishop, Chris Cohen, Yossi Benayoun, Rio Ferdinand, Ravel Morrison, Matthew Upson, Michael Carrick, Elliot Ward, Jimmy Walker, Bobby Zamora, Lee Bowyer

For all those names – and indeed Noble himself, iconic Iron that he is – the star turn of this special day at the Boleyn Ground has to be Adrián running the length of the pitch to score.

“I was there when…” t-shirts at the ready, vendors!

The game finished 6-5 to the current West Ham first team, including a goal from Noble himself, but apparently they had a penalty shoot-out anyway.
