Bradford City Wembley trip
Wembley… Conversely, not on its way to Bradford (Img: Billy Hicks)

Having already knocked Wigan Athletic and Arsenal out along the way, League Two side Bradford City secured a hattrick of Premier League scalps by last night seeing off Aston Villa to reach the League Cup final. Football Burp paid a visit to Bantams forum Claret and Banter to see how they were processing the prospect of their first Bradford City Wembley experience since the 1996 Second Division Playoff final, in which Chris Kamara managed them to a 2-0 victory over Notts County…

Bradford are on their way to Wembley!

I’ve had a bottle of Champagne for quite a few years, it’s standing joke in our house, I’m always asked when it’s going to be opened and I’ve always replied that I’d open it when City got to Wembley. Tbh I don’t know when I was going to open it, I was just being a contrary git.

Me & the youngest (14) have just demolished it, 5 minutes flat.

now that youve had a chance to digest…

i thought hanson was terrific….not even counting the goal he was very active and won alot of balls for us…villa did pretty well in keeping nahki contained even though he did have a half chance in the first half…hines to me was poor until the break but after he was pretty darn good…thompson was a breath of fresh air off the bench for me …thought duke came out a bit early on villas second but was really good in general and kept us in the game in the first 45…we weathered a hell of a storm to be fair…and at this point shouldnt be scared of anyone…..hope chelski wins…lets win this damn thing in style..

pretty damn proud of the 6500…the lads…and especially pp and parkin…to me they stood tall tonight and didnt over react after the first half..hell of a day.

James from the Co-op!
If they produced a film where a lad was stacking shelves in a co-op one minute and then the film follows him playing for his 4th Div team as they beat 3 Prem teams, with him scoring the all important goal, to get to a Wembley final?

You’d turn it off for being too far fetched!

I’m mentally destroyed.. my nerves are shredded and the dog needs rehab after Hanson’s goal.. but I’m starting on the rum and cokes and gonna get well and truely mullered..

I’ve followed City since 1965. How they have repaid everything tonight.

Today I saw game at local pub. Ands the most proud moment of the nights when a barman asked is it a team one division below Premiership. I answered that 3 divisions below. And he was so astonished by quality of football. All time that I support Bradford City I felt that something special exists in this club, it was just needed to wait and now I see what it is. Im so proud that we could change a game that was going aganist us, what a work during half-time. I will never forget las 5 minutes, but how good we killed that time. Thank’s for every player, managers and stuff, all Bradford City family. What a fantastic feeling tonight!!!!

Skyebantam…
