We already went and gave you our goalkeeping and defensive Fantasy Football Tips for Gameweek 9, so let’s crack on with our midfield and striker tips.

Just remember: we don’t know this weekend’s Premier League results, so there is a smidgen of a possibility, albeit remote, that our Fantasy Football tips might not come good.

You really should know that, though. Otherwise, there ain’t all that much hope for you.

Fantasy Football Tips, Gameweek 9 – Midfielders

Did you see Arsenal’s goals against Norwich City? All from midfielders, yeah baby, and they be trippin’ across London to bottom-of-the-table Crystal Palace this weekend for some presumed shooting practice.

Mesut Özil may set you back £10.6m, but a) that’s small change next to the £42m he cost in real life, and b) he’s not just assisting all over the joint but scoring too.

The German’s looking like a points machine, not to mention captain material – remember, your captain gets double points, so it’s good to have someone who gets loads.

We’d say the same about £6.8m Aaron Ramsey if Arsène Wenger hadn’t said that he’s considering resting him a bit over the coming weeks.

Could be that he’s just rested for European games (although he wasn’t last night, and now Arsenal have it all to do in their group), or that, as against Norwich, he comes on as a substitute to both score and assist, so we’ll just give you the information and figuratively scarper.

£6.1m Jack Wilshere has now scored in consecutive games, a consequence perhaps of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini allowing him to throw off his shackles like so many bowlines – yeah, we don’t know what they are either – and scurry on forwards as he did to such devastating effect against Norwich.

With Santi Cazorla (£9.6m) now back from injury, and prior popular pick Theo Walcott (£9.2m) still to return, goodness knows what manner of team selections lie in store. We dare say rotation may win through.

Elsewhere, Everton pair Kevin Mirallas (£7.2m) and Steven Pienaar (£6.5m) got back on the goal trail against Hull City, the former even deigning to assist the latter’s, and this weekend takes the Toffees to Villa ‘anything but a fortress’ Park.

Southampton’s Adam Lallana (£6.1m) scored again, as did Cardiff City’s Jordan Mutch (£4.4m), while West Ham United’s Ravel Morrison (£4.5m) continued his fine form with an assist against Manchester City. All good value.

Swansea City’s Jonathan De Guzmán bagged his first of the season in Saturday’s 4-0 win over Sunderland, almost bagging another and reminding us with his spectacular long-ranged finish that he’s a bit of a set piece specialist on the sly, and off the sly too.

If you’ve got the cash to splash, then Chelsea pair Oscar and Eden Hazard – both £9m – should score you plenty of points.

They’ve got seven league goals between them already this season, and they should be ripe for assists too – Hazard alone got twenty of those last season.

The Blues are at home to Manchester City this weekend, mind, so it mightn’t be a high-scoring ‘affair’.

In case you’re wondering, no, we don’t imagine that Fulham’s midfielders will keep scoring wonder goals at quite the same rate as two per match.

Fantasy Football Tips, Gameweek 9 – Strikers

With two goals at West Ham and very nearly a third, Manchester City’s Sergio Agüero looks back to his £11.1m-justifying best – if he can repeat the form of his 30-goal debut season then you’ll be at the very least chuckling.

Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suárez continued their fruitful union at Newcastle United, the £10m former scoring and the £11.4m latter bagging two assists.

Liverpool are at home to West Bromwich Albion this weekend, which ain’t easy – Steve Clarke’s chaps have looked solid of late – but, hey, it does come tougher.

Olivier Giroud may not have scored in Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Norwich but he did get two assists – don’t discount strikers who assist, for it earns them only one less point than a goal.
