Amazing Coleraine Strike Again With Double Corner Salvo!

Paul Owens scored two corners for Coleraine against Glenavon this weekend.

Quite an array of talent they’ve got there at Irish Premier League side Coleraine. In September, left-back Johnny Black made headlines when he scored from his own half against Portadown, a remarkable effort which an excited/excitable Football Burp packaged alongside Pat Sullivan’s winner for Shamrock Rovers at Partizan Belgrade and Matty Burrows’ 2010 FIFA World Goal of the Year contender for Glentoran against Portadown – poor Portadown – as our Holy Trinity of Irish League Wondergoals (click here to see all three goals).

Any notions that our Irish chums would take 2012 off from mind-boggling goalscoring exploits were well and truly laid to rest by Coleraine’s Paul Owens when he scored directly from not one but two corners against Glenavon this weekend, even coming close to completing a hat-trick of wind-assisted wonderstrikes the likes of which anyone would be hard-pressed to emulate ever again. Check out Owens’ in-swingers…

Blimey, what will they do next? Tune in at some point in the near future to possibly witness someone ponging one in off a passing aircraft, or some such…
