Southampton were beaten 0-2 at St Mary’s on Sunday by a Liverpool side made up of several familiar faces to the home fans as a recently enlarged legion of ex-players came to face them.

With the addition of Virgil van Dijk, returning to the ground for the first time since his big-money move in January, the visitors had five former Southampton stars in their matchday squad.

These were the best jokes as Southampton faced Liverpool team full of their old players:

When Liverpool play at Southampton the home players' shirts should just say "Add to Cart" on the front.

'Dad, it's been 80 minutes, do we have to keep booing?'

'Yes, look here comes Lallana. A fresh one. Boooooooooo'

'What's the point, though?'

'Just f*cking do it'

Jurgen Klopp bringing Dejan Lovren on with two minutes to go is just taking the piss.

Saints spent the first half booing their former players. Spent the second half booing their current players. That's a lot of booing! 😬 #SOULIV

Virgil Van Dijk finally keeps a clean sheet for Liverpool. And no surprise that he did it while playing at home.
